Marriage is more than a ceremony—it is a spiritual covenant and lifelong commitment between two individuals. Whether you’re looking to hold your Nikah at Mustafa Center or wish for one of our Imams to officiate elsewhere, we’re here to assist you every step of the way.
To Schedule Your Nikah Ceremony:

1. Submit the “Scheduling for an Imam” Form
Please fill out the online Scheduling for an Imam form at least one week prior to your desired ceremony date. Once submitted, our Marriage Services Office will begin the process of:
- Assigning an Imam to officiate the ceremony
- Scheduling mandatory premarital counseling sessions
2. Obtain a Legal Marriage License
Because our Nikahs are recognized as legal marriages, couples must first obtain a marriage license from their local courthouse.
For VA and DC Residents:

- Alexandria County Courthouse — (703) 838-5046
Important: The original marriage license and the provided return envelope must be submitted to the Wedding Administrator no later than 7 days prior to the ceremony.
3. Submit Required Documents & Administrative Fee
Administrative fees apply as follows:
- $200 — On-site ceremonies for Mustafa Center paid members
- $400 — Off-site ceremonies for Mustafa Center paid members
If you’re seeking premarital counseling only (without conducting the Nikah at Mustafa Center), the same administrative fees apply.
4. Provide Two Nikah Witnesses
The bride and groom must bring at least two witnesses to the ceremony. The mosque does not provide witnesses.
5. Reserve the Hall (If Applicable)
If you’re planning to hold your ceremony at Mustafa Center:
- Contract Signing Only (No Setup or Food):
Just notify the Marriage Services Administrator of your guest count. This is included in the standard processing fee. - Full Ceremony With Setup and Food:
Additional Hall Rental Fee: $600 (plus the Nikah administrative fee)
